Squarrites on Form

paard4 horseOver the years, trips to the osses have been arranged by JayCee and DCeen at Cheltenham in March and Aintree in April; and by Yup and 50/50 at Uttoxeter in June (Ladies Night).  Recently Chester has also become a firm to soft favourite.

A couple of good tips were given out by Richee for Aintree:

Vee Neck – A good jumper

Creosote – Good over fences

UTTOXETER 06
According to 50/50 the runners were:

  • Bill Tabbernor back on form and looking in fine fettle after being stabled up over Winter.
  • I’m up for it Keithee, showed a lot of good form of late and has always done well on this track, so much so, the Stewards may ask him to carry a few extra pounds, if only to cover his losses at Cheltenham!
  • It wasn’t looking too good for Scottee earlier, he refused to come out of the horse box, however true to form he came out backwards, big relief all round, or is it? Some commentary from Beardee here “OH NO Youth he’s blown it!  Send him Home” … Immortal words there from the grand master and leader of the Beardee Boys.
  • It’s his Birthday and he wants to put a show on, but Richee would it not be more appropriate to wear racing britches? jodhpurs may be a tadge over the top, but no, lets give him the benefit of the doubt, after all he did look rather dapper at Aintree.
  • Tatee may have stumbled here, he’s been locked in the stable by his Lady… why’s that? Well apparently he’s wearing the wrong colours, OH NO! he’s just been shown the riding crop, I don’t think the Jockey Club will like that! and neither would I… but Scottee might!
  • 50/50 Craigee is getting all excited he’s been reading the racing times and heard there’s a couple of likely winners at evens odds, just how he likes it! but 50p each way won’t hit the big time.
  • The going might have improved a little, but it’s still a bit too soft for 50/50 Yuppee, he’s a bit anxious about throwing a shoe!.

Beardee is still on long odds, the tooth ache may have subsided and he’s now got the bit between his teeth, but it looks like he could unseat his rider in the parade ring would you believe! It’s not too late to fit a martingale, at least it would stop him rearing up at the young fillies!

Return from Uttoxeter was approximately 10:15pm, giving time for one last jug of Pimm’s at the champagne Bar and a prance around the makeshift disco for the Beardee boys, with at least 3 trips each to the conveniences for 50/50 Craigee and 50/50 Yuppee.
A few indulged in a curry at the Sangam, spending their last remaining shillings to celebrate Richees birthday.

Beardee, the novice hurdler, agreed to take this on board.  He fell at the first fence again but vows to get back in the saddle again one day.

CHELTENHAM March 04.
The going was good.  The coming back was even better with Rob blowing into a bag and smacking his knee.
