The Sqwalkers:

Due to a glut of holidays and other breaks the organising of this sqwalk was very kindly taken up by Debris and Dasher.  They did a tremendous job, putting together a circular sqwalk starting and finishing in Stone.  The sqwalk was around 12 miles with a start time of 8.30am.  'The Poste of Stone', the local Wetherspoons, opened at 8am for anyone in need of a coffee or bacon butty before setting off.

Keithee, with his dodgy knee, joined us with his racer so he could meet us here and there on route.

The route to The Green Man at Milwich was approximately 6.5 miles across some lovely countryside.  It was a bit boggy in places but where was dry this year ??

Mothy was thankfully on hand wherever an electric fence blocked our path, unhooking the wires carefully to allow us through.  He was last seen glowing like the green man of Milwich after getting his wires crossed.

Mid morning we stopped for a quick break, taken literally by Reg who snapped a low fence in half as he attempted to leap over it.

Luckily, no-one noticed and it was quickly pushed back together.

We arrived at the Green Man for lunch around 12ish and Keithee locked his bike to a post.  The fact that anyone could have lifted his bike up and off the post hadn't entered his mind.

The guest ales were listed on a blackboard although Doombar appeared to be the only one available on this occasion.  http://www.greenmanmilwich.com

Was that a lemonade top up for Dasher ?

After a cracking meal and a few bevvys we moved on in separate groups. Some finishing the route as planned, and several opting to walk the couple of miles to the Dog and Doublet at Sandon, just off the bottom of the map shown above, for further refreshments and where regular buses could be caught back to Stone.

A couple of weird locals ignored us as we passed by unnoticed !!

Heavy appeared stumped in the Dog and Doublet as we moved the heavy seats around.

Ann confirmed that she was absolutely buggered.

Yuppers, jet lagged from arriving back from New York the previous day, was in complete agreement.

The Aston Marina was given a wide berth (sorry) on this occasion and a bus was caught for the remaining journey back to Stone.

We met up at the Swan Inn and ventured outside to the rear patio area, but moved back indoors as the temperature fell.  www.swaninnstone.co.uk

We left to catch our bus home but returned to retrieve our table when we found the bus wasn't yet due; much to the surprise of the drinkers who had already moved into our seats.

Understandably, there were no notes written up for this walk but hopefully the photos say it all.

Well done and many thanks to Dasher and Debris for sorting this one out.  Much appreciated by yours truly.
